The KENNAMETAL 1162206 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in a DCGT style with a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape. Manufactured to both ANSI (DCGT32505) and ISO (DCGT11T302) standards, this insert carries a K313 grade designation optimized for high wear-resistance across stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The insert features a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. With a corner radius of 0.0079 inches and an HP chip breaker geometry, it is engineered for finishing operations that demand tight tolerances and smooth surface finishes. Screw-on holding method provides secure clamping during high-precision cutting passes.
This insert is suited for finishing operations on non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, and cast iron in CNC turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across both left- and right-hand toolholders.
