The KENNAMETAL 1161127 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the VNGP432 geometry within the KENLOC series. It features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle, making it well suited for demanding metal-removal operations. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 1.7434 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0313 inches. Grade K313 delivers high wear resistance balanced with toughness, covering stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. Four cutting edges extend tool life between index cycles. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in standard VNGP-style toolholders.

This insert is designed for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Primary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary applicability across stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces. The medium machining chip breaker geometry supports stable chip control in moderate stock-removal applications. Compatibility

Designed for use in VNGP-style toolholders compatible with ANSI insert code VNGP432 and ISO insert code VNGP220408. Holding method is clamp and pin. Confirm toolholder bore diameter against the insert hole diameter of 0.2031 inches before installation.

Installation Notes

This insert is installed by machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with indexable carbide tooling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not use impact tools on clamping hardware. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new edge to prevent insert rocking and premature edge failure.
