The KENNAMETAL 1160262 is a SNMG544 square turning insert in the KENLOC series, manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiC, TiCN, and TiN. Grade KC850 delivers a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness, making it well suited for interrupted and continuous cuts in steel and stainless steel. The insert features a 5/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/16-inch corner radius, and a negative rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. Eight available cutting edges reduce tooling cost per edge. The chip breaker geometry is rated for medium machining operations across a range of workpiece materials.

This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Primary workpiece materials include steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and special or super alloys (ISO S). The KENLOC clamping system accommodates both clamp and pin holding methods. Typical applications are medium-depth roughing and semi-finishing passes where a consistent edge and reliable chip control are required in production environments.
