The KENNAMETAL 1160176 is a solid carbide turning insert carrying the ANSI designation CNMG432MG and the ISO designation CNMG120408. It features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiC, TiCN, and TiN that delivers moderate wear resistance combined with high toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert body measures 12.90 mm (0.5077 inches) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond shape and negative rake geometry suit roughing and medium machining operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Qualified machinists and CNC operators install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations. The KC850 grade targets steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and special or super alloys (S) where a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness is required. The MG chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining passes with controlled chip evacuation. The neutral hand orientation allows the insert to seat in standard KENLOC-compatible toolholders without directional restriction. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches).

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-room personnel. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the turret or toolpost de-energized before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamping screw or pin system to secure the insert per the toolholder manufacturer's procedure. Inspect the insert seat and shim for chips or debris before clamping to prevent insert rocking and premature edge failure.
