The KENNAMETAL 1159625 is a solid carbide milling insert in the SEKN series, designated by ISO code SEKN1204AFSNGN. It carries a multilayer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN applied over a solid carbide substrate in manufacturer grade KC725M. The insert is square in shape with a 90-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a GN chip breaker geometry. At 0.1875 inches thick with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inch) corner radius, it is sized for standard indexable milling toolholders that accept the SEKN 43 insert size. Holding is by screw clamp. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists in metalworking and tool-and-die environments install and index these inserts during routine cutting-edge replacement.
This insert is engineered for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — ISO material groups P, M, and S. The KC725M grade and PVD multilayer coating are matched to applications where controlled heat and edge toughness matter, such as face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling passes on difficult-to-machine alloys. The neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and 20-degree relief angle make it suitable for a range of cut conditions from light finishing to moderate roughing on the listed workpiece materials. Indexable milling inserts are installed and replaced by machinists or toolroom technicians using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Always de-energize and lock out the machine spindle before handling inserts. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamp screw for damage or debris before seating a new insert. Do not overtighten the clamping screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer specification.
