The KENNAMETAL 1159597 is a CNMA432-style solid carbide turning insert with a KC730 manufacturer grade and a PVD-applied TiN coating. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake angle with a flat-top chip breaker and honed cutting edge style. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, the insert length is 12.9 mm (approximately 0.5077 inches), and the insert thickness is 0.1875 inches. With four available cutting edges and compatibility with clamp and pin holding methods, this insert is suited for production turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert as part of tooled-up KENLOC-series toolholders.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications. Its primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and S. The KC730 grade with TiN PVD coating is engineered to maintain edge integrity and resist built-up edge when cutting these demanding materials. The maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). This insert is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes depending on feed and speed parameters selected for the workpiece material.

Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for the KENLOC-series toolholder to secure the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for the selected workpiece material and feed combination.
