The KENNAMETAL 1157504 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to the SPEB120308T ISO designation, this neutral-hand insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle and a 0.0315-inch (0.80 mm) corner radius. It is finished with a three-layer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN, which improves wear resistance and edge life across a range of workpiece materials. At 0.125 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.3272 inches, this insert is engineered for precision fit and repeatable performance in screw-retained milling cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries material grade designations of C5, C6, and C7, making it applicable across a broad hardness range in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. Typical installations include face milling, shoulder milling, and slotting on CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments. Machinists working with difficult-to-machine alloys and stainless grades will find the KC725M grade and PVD coating well matched to those materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for SPEB-series milling cutter bodies accepting SPEB120308T style inserts with a 0.2071-inch hole diameter and an insert size code of 422. Suitable for use with workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium) per ISO classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver for the insert screw to avoid stripping the cutter body pocket thread — do not exceed cutter body manufacturer torque recommendations. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
