The KENNAMETAL 1157500 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to the SPCB120308 ISO designation. It carries the KC725M grade and features a multilayer PVD coating sequence of TiN, TiCN, and TiN applied over the carbide substrate. The insert is square in shape with a 90-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and an 11-degree relief angle. The corner radius measures 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm), and the inscribed circle diameter is 0.3752 inches. Thickness is 0.1252 inches. The insert is held in place with a screw-clamping method and is intended for use in milling operations on demanding workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys, covering ISO material groups P, M, and S. It fits milling cutter bodies designed around the SPEB insert series and size code 422. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-demand profiling operations where a wear-resistant PVD-coated carbide grade is required. Material grades C5, C6, and C7 apply. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 5 units per purchase.
Designed for milling cutter bodies that accept SPEB series square inserts at size code 422 with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible cutter pockets must accommodate the SPCB120308 ISO geometry and a screw-clamp holding system.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully locked out and the machine in a de-energized state. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to torque the clamping screw — do not over-tighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
