The KENNAMETAL 1157496 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation SDEB080204 and manufacturer grade KC725M. It features a square insert shape with a 90-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a PVD-applied multilayer TiN/TiCN/TiN coating for wear resistance and edge integrity in demanding milling operations. The insert measures 0.0937 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.3272 inches and a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (0.40 mm). Screw-mounted and classified to material grades C5, C6, and C7, this insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling applications where tight tolerance and consistent tool life are required.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, and S. It fits within the SDEB series toolholding system and is well-suited to finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. Inspect the insert pocket seat for debris or damage before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout performance.
