The KENNAMETAL 1157495 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO code SDEB080201 and manufactured to grade KC725M. It features a PVD-applied multilayer TiN/TiCN/TiN coating that enhances wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting operations. The insert has a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a neutral hand orientation, and a 15-degree relief angle. The corner radius measures 0.0039 inches (0.10 mm), the inscribed circle diameter is 0.3272 inches, and the thickness is 0.0937 inches (3/32 inch). The insert is secured by a screw-clamp holding method. Machinists, CNC programmers, and tool-crib technicians working in production milling environments will specify this insert for high-performance metal removal.
This insert is intended for milling applications involving steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. The SDEB series geometry is suited for face milling and shoulder milling operations where consistent edge security and coating durability are required. The PVD coating process preserves the sharp cutting edge geometry, making this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on difficult-to-machine alloys. Each insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
Designed for use in SDEB-series milling toolholders that accept a size 2 square insert with a 0.1402-inch hole diameter. Compatible with workpiece materials classified under ISO groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). Verify toolholder pocket geometry and insert size code 2.61.50 before ordering.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the toolholder pocket. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid stripping the screw or cracking the carbide insert. Inspect the pocket seat and shim for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
