Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Use the correct torque driver for the screw-clamp fastener as specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not over-torque or use makeshift tools. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's setup sheet for proper insert orientation and projection.
