The KENNAMETAL 1157451 is a solid carbide milling insert manufactured to ISO code ADKT1035PDERLC and offered in the KC725M grade. It features a parallelogram shape with an 85-degree included angle and a right-hand cutting orientation. The insert carries a three-layer PVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and TiN, which delivers a hard, wear-resistant surface suited to interrupted cuts and high-speed face milling. With a relief angle of 15 degrees, a rake angle of 7 degrees, and an LC chip breaker geometry, it is engineered to manage chip flow effectively across a range of material conditions. Licensed HVAC and trade professionals working with precision CNC equipment will recognize this as a direct screw-held insert for face and shoulder milling toolholders.
This insert is designed for use in face milling, shoulder milling, and similar metal-removal operations on machining centers and milling machines. Its primary workpiece material designations are P, M, and S, covering steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The LC chip breaker geometry supports medium to light depths of cut in these materials. It is a right-hand insert and must be matched to compatible right-hand toolholders in the ADKT series. Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-crib technician using the appropriate torx or hex key for the clamping screw.

Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the toolholder secured in a vise or tool-change station. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer for the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Confirm right-hand orientation before resuming cutting operations.
