The KENNAMETAL 1153171 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537L specification, this Series K105 bit features a 130-degree drill point angle with web thinning for improved centering and reduced thrust. The bright uncoated carbide construction and K10 material grade make it well-suited for drilling non-ferrous metals, plastics, composites, and other abrasive materials. At 3.23 inches overall length with a 1.69-inch flute length, it delivers a compact, rigid profile that resists deflection in CNC and manual drill press operations alike.
This bit is intended for precision machining environments where hole location accuracy and consistent geometry are critical. It handles standard through-hole drilling as well as cross-hole and inclined-hole exit applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in moderately deep holes. Machinists and toolroom professionals working on production runs or prototype work will find the straight cylindrical shank straightforward to chuck in standard toolholding. The 0.25-inch shank diameter accommodates common collet and drill chuck sizes used in CNC machining centers and bench drill presses.
Designed as an OEM-style precision drill bit for use in standard CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and toolroom equipment accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank. Tool application includes standard drilling, cross-hole drilling, and inclined-hole exit as noted in the product specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians following established shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly secured in the chuck or collet before initiating a cut. Verify that the shank is fully seated and clamped to the correct torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines before running. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 1.37 inches without evaluating chip evacuation requirements for the specific workpiece material.
