The KENNAMETAL 1152767 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar in the E-STLP toolholder style, designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.48 inches (12.19 mm) and a 3/8 inch (9.53 mm) shank diameter, it handles tight-bore applications where rigidity and precision are critical. The screw-clamp insert holding method secures TP-style inserts with a neutral rake and a -5 degree lead angle for controlled chip formation and consistent surface finish. The 6.0 inch (152.4 mm) overall length suits standard toolpost and turret setups. This bar is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for right-hand internal boring on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both production and prototype machining environments. The solid carbide construction provides higher stiffness than steel-shank alternatives, reducing deflection in small-bore applications. The coolant-through design, with a 0.125 inch coolant hole, supports high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, improving chip evacuation and tool life in deep-bore operations. Compatible insert geometry is the TP series with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle and 3/32 inch thickness.
Designed for use with TP-style inserts featuring a 1/4 inch inscribed circle and 3/32 inch thickness. This toolholder follows the E-STLP style designation and is not a multi-use tool.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before mounting or indexing inserts. Use calibrated torque tools when tightening the screw-clamp to avoid insert movement or seat damage. Verify shank clamping length and overhang against the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before beginning cuts.
