The KENNAMETAL 1152762 is a right-hand E-SWLP indexable boring bar engineered for precision internal turning operations. Built from solid carbide, it accepts WP-series inserts secured by a screw-lock clamping method and delivers a minimum bore diameter of 23.62mm (0.93 inches). The 3/4-inch shank diameter and 254mm (10 inches) overall length make it suitable for moderate-reach boring applications. An integrated through-coolant channel with a 0.281-inch coolant hole diameter supports chip evacuation and thermal management at the cutting zone. The neutral rake geometry with a 0-degree rake angle and a minus-3-degree lead angle helps control cutting forces and surface finish in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This bar is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC lathes and boring mills.
This boring bar is suited for precision internal diameter machining on CNC turning centers and horizontal boring machines in job shop and production environments. The 0.50-inch center-to-cutting-edge dimension supports consistent tool offset setup. Applications include finishing and semi-finishing bores in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where dimensional accuracy and surface finish consistency are required. The through-coolant feature makes it well matched for deep-bore passes where conventional flood coolant cannot reach the cutting zone effectively.
Designed to accept WP-series indexable inserts (WP.. designation) with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 5/32-inch thickness, as specified by the E-SWLP toolholder style.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Disengage machine power and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing or indexing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the screw-lock clamping mechanism and follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended clamping torque procedure. Verify tool offset and center height alignment after installation before resuming cutting operations.
