The KENNAMETAL 1152730 is a right-hand E-SCLP indexable boring bar built for precision internal turning operations. Constructed from solid carbide, it accepts CP-style inserts secured by a screw-holding method and features a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees with a -5 degree lead angle. The through-coolant design delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, helping to control heat and extend insert life during deep-bore applications. With a minimum bore diameter of 23.62mm (0.930 inches) and an overall length of 254mm (10.0 inches), this tool is suited for demanding production environments where tight bore tolerances are required. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers typically specify this bar for steel, stainless, and cast-iron boring work.
This boring bar is intended for use in CNC turning centers and boring mills where internal diameter finishing or roughing is performed. The 3/4-inch (19.05mm) shank diameter fits standard tool turret pockets on most production lathes. The through-coolant capability makes it particularly effective in deep-bore scenarios where flood coolant cannot reach the cutting zone efficiently. It is a single-use, non-multi-use toolholder, meaning it is dedicated to one insert style and geometry per setup.
Designed for use with CP-style indexable inserts featuring a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and 3/32-inch thickness. Fits standard 3/4-inch shank toolholding systems on CNC turning centers and boring mills.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before mounting or removing the boring bar. Verify that the coolant supply line is properly connected to the shank coolant port before engaging through-coolant flow. Confirm insert seating and screw torque per the insert manufacturer's specification before beginning a cut.
