The KENNAMETAL 1152726 is a right-hand E-SCLP indexable boring bar machined from solid carbide, designed for internal diameter boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts CP-style inserts secured by a screw-clamp holding method and features a through-coolant channel with a 0.187-inch coolant hole diameter to direct cutting fluid directly to the insert tip. The bar has a minimum bore diameter of 0.600 inches (15.24 mm), an overall length of 8 inches (203.2 mm), and a 0.500-inch (12.70 mm) shank diameter. With a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and a lead angle of -5 degrees, it is suited for precision finishing and semi-finishing passes in tight bore applications.
This boring bar is intended for use in production and job-shop machining environments where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are required. The E-SCLP toolholder style is a standard platform used in shops running CP-compatible insert programs. Through-coolant capability makes it effective in deep-bore situations where conventional flood cooling cannot reach the cutting zone adequately. It is installed and operated by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians. The 0.312-inch center-to-cutting-edge measurement supports precise tool offset setup during presetting or on-machine probing routines.
Designed for use with CP-style indexable inserts with a 0.250-inch inscribed circle and 3/32-inch thickness in E-SCLP toolholder configurations on CNC lathes and turning centers equipped with 0.500-inch boring bar pockets or compatible quick-change systems.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before mounting or removing the boring bar. Secure the shank firmly in the tool block to the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping specifications, and verify through-coolant passages are clear and properly connected before starting the machine. Follow the insert manufacturer's torque guidance when seating the CP insert screw to avoid seat damage.
