The KENNAMETAL 1152613 is a left-hand indexable boring bar constructed from solid carbide, designed for precision internal turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 12.19mm (0.4800 inches) and an overall length of 152.40mm (6.0000 inches), this bar handles tight-bore applications where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. The 3/8-inch (9.53mm) shank diameter provides a stable clamping interface, and the screw-based insert holding method ensures repeatable edge positioning. Through-coolant capability, with a coolant hole diameter of 0.1250 inches, directs fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. Compatible with T221P inserts.
This boring bar is suited for precision bore finishing and semi-finishing in metalworking environments including job shops, production machining facilities, and aerospace or automotive component manufacturing. The left-hand configuration makes it the correct choice for specific spindle orientations or tooling setups that require cutting in the left-hand direction. The through-coolant feature makes it particularly effective in deep-bore or difficult-to-machine materials where heat buildup and chip packing are common challenges. It is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians.
Designed for use with T221P indexable inserts. Verify spindle direction and toolholder pocket orientation before installation to confirm left-hand fitment is appropriate for the intended machine setup.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the boring bar from the toolholder or turret. Ensure the shank bore and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the bar. Verify coolant line connections are secure and that system pressure is appropriate for the through-coolant channel before resuming operation.
