The KENNAMETAL 1152610 is a solid carbide indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to the E-NE toolholder style in the Top Notch series, it accepts N-style inserts held in place by a clamp-style insert retention method. The bar features a 1 inch shank diameter and a 12 inch overall length, with a minimum bore diameter of 1.375 inches and a center-to-cutting-edge dimension of 0.688 inches. A coolant-through design with a 0.310 inch coolant hole diameter keeps cutting temperatures controlled during extended bore depth operations. Weighing 4.46 pounds, this is a right-hand cut tool suited for production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is used in internal diameter turning applications where consistent finish, tight tolerances, and extended reach are required. The 3-degree lead angle and solid carbide construction make it appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials in both roughing and finishing passes. It is typically installed by machinists and CNC operators working on lathes and turning centers. The 12 inch OAL makes it suitable for applications requiring deeper bore access than standard short-shank tooling allows. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation in deep-bore conditions.
Designed for use with N-style indexable inserts in E-NE series toolholders. Consult the KENNAMETAL Top Notch series insert selection guide to confirm correct insert geometry and grade for your specific workpiece material and cut parameters.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before mounting or indexing inserts. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder bore using the appropriate torque specifications provided by the machine or toolholder manufacturer. Verify insert seating and clamp torque before initiating a cut, and confirm coolant-through supply pressure is compatible with the machine tool coolant system.
