The KENNAMETAL 1123683 is an ER16 collet designed for precision workholding in CNC machining centers, milling machines, and other rotating spindle equipment. It accepts a nominal collet size of 2.00mm (0.0787 inches, 5/64 inch) and delivers a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0152mm, making it suitable for close-tolerance toolholding applications. The overall length is 27.51mm and the overall diameter measures 16.99mm. This collet is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians requiring consistent, repeatable tool grip in high-speed or precision-cut operations.
This ER16 collet is used in standard ER16-series collet chucks found in vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC routers, engravers, and precision drilling setups across light industrial and production environments. It is suited for holding drills, end mills, reamers, and other round-shank tooling within the ER16 clamping range. Applications span both production shops and toolroom use where low runout and secure tool retention are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement collet for standard ER16-series collet chuck systems accepting 2.00mm shank tooling.
ER collets are installed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before changing tooling, power down the spindle completely and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state per applicable machine tool safety procedures. Insert the collet into the ER16 nut before seating in the chuck body, and tighten with the appropriate ER collet wrench to the chuck manufacturer's specified torque range. Inspect the collet seat and chuck bore for chips or damage before each installation to maintain the rated TIR performance.
