The KENNAMETAL 1123620 is a right-hand indexable turning toolholder in the TRAOR202D style, designed for use with RC..23 series inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method. Built from steel with a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees, this toolholder accepts inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle and supports a maximum depth of cut of 0.75 inches. It belongs to Kennametal's K-Lock series and is intended for installation by machinists and CNC lathe operators running production or job-shop turning operations. The 1.25 x 1.25 inch square shank and 6-inch overall length make it a standard fit for common turning center setups.
This toolholder is suited for external turning applications on CNC lathes and manual engine lathes where consistent insert positioning and rigid clamping are required. The clamp-style retention method provides secure insert seating during interrupted or continuous cuts. It does not include coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for standard dry or flood-coolant external tooling applications in light to moderate material removal operations.
Designed for use with RC..23 series inserts with a 1/4-inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle diameter, as specified by the complete insert compatibility designation RC.. 23..
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an E-stop or safe state before mounting or removing the toolholder. Secure the shank in the tool post or turret to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify insert seating and clamp torque before initiating a test cut.
