Manufactured to the NJP insert style in the Top Notch series, this insert carries the KC850 grade — a CVD-coated carbide with a TiC/TiCN/TiN multilayer finish suited for steel and stainless threading applications in the C5 and C6 material grade range. It cuts right-hand external threads to the UNJ standard at 12 TPI with a 60-degree included angle. The corner radius measures 0.013 decimal inches and tip-to-top height is 0.098 decimal inches, making precise seating in a compatible Top Notch holder essential for on-spec thread form.
This insert is used in precision external threading of aerospace and industrial fastener profiles where the UNJ thread form — with its controlled root radius — is specified.
