The KENNAMETAL 1114306 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the NG2094K geometry in the Top Notch series, this left-hand insert delivers a cutting width of 2.39 mm (0.0941 inches) and a maximum depth of cut of 2.79 mm (0.1098 inches). The KC730 grade carbide substrate is finished with a PVD-applied TiN coating, providing wear resistance and extended tool life. A positive rake angle of 10 degrees and a K-style chip breaker geometry promote controlled chip evacuation during grooving cuts. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments install this insert for consistent groove profiles on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This insert is suited for light to medium grooving applications on lathes where tight groove width tolerances are required. The Top Notch series tooling system is widely used in production turning for external grooving, parting, and face grooving. The left-hand orientation determines the direction of cut and the compatible blade holder required. The KC730 grade with material grade ratings of C2, C3, and C4 makes this insert applicable across a range of steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous machining scenarios. It is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians as a direct replacement insert within compatible Top Notch blade holders.
Designed for use in Top Notch series blade holders that accept the NG2094K insert style. Compatible with material grades C2, C3, and C4 workpiece materials. Maximum depth of cut range is 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm (0.1000 to 0.1500 inches).
This insert is installed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Always disengage the machine and lock out power before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver or clamp screw specified by the blade holder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten by hand or with non-standard tools. Verify insert hand orientation and geometry match the blade holder before initiating a cut.
