The KENNAMETAL 1113562 is a solid carbide grooving insert engineered for precision external and internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the Top Notch series, it carries a K68 manufacturer grade with a bright, uncoated finish suited for cutting non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and hardened materials where coating adhesion may be undesirable. The insert delivers a cutting width of 0.79 mm (0.0311 inches) and a maximum depth of cut of 1.27 mm (0.0500 inches), making it appropriate for fine, narrow-groove applications requiring tight dimensional control. A neutral rake geometry and 3-degree lead angle support stable chip formation during light to moderate grooving passes.
This insert is intended for use on production turning equipment in both job-shop and manufacturing environments. It is configured for right-hand cutting and fits Top Notch series toolholders accepting NG2031 insert geometry. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, automotive, and precision parts production will find this insert well-suited to grooving soft to medium-hard workpiece materials. The 55-degree included angle and 0.09 mm corner radius (0.0035 inches) support controlled chip geometry in confined groove profiles.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before securing the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for Top Notch series holders.
