The KENNAMETAL 1113208 is a carbide threading insert in the Top Notch series, designed for precision thread-cutting on both internal and external profiles. Manufactured to grade K313 with a bright, uncoated finish, this insert holds a partial profile 60-degree thread form and is suited for right-hand cutting operations. It covers an external pitch range of 0.70 to 3.00 mm (8 to 36 TPI) and an internal pitch range of 1.25 to 3.50 mm (7 to 20 TPI), making it a versatile option for shops running a broad range of thread standards. The NT2R insert style fits into compatible Top Notch toolholders used on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment.
This insert is used in machining environments where consistent thread geometry is required across production runs. It is appropriate for threading carbon steels, alloy steels, and similar materials within the C3 and C4 material grade range. Typical applications include threading on turned components in manufacturing, maintenance, and repair operations. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians working on lathes equipped with Top Notch series toolholders. The uncoated carbide construction is well suited for applications where coating buildup could affect thread form accuracy or where regrinding is part of the workflow.
Designed for use with Top Notch series toolholders accepting NT2R insert style inserts. Compatible with right-hand threading operations on both internal and external workpieces requiring a partial profile 60-degree thread form.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Disengage the machine spindle and lock out power before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or clamping key specified for the Top Notch toolholder to secure the insert without over-torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before installation to ensure the insert seats fully and squarely.
