It carries the KC725M manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiN/TiCN/TiN multilayer coating that extends edge life under moderate to aggressive cutting conditions. The insert uses a parallelogram shape (APKT style) with an 85-degree included angle, an 11-degree relief angle, and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. Screw-type holding locks the insert securely in the pocket. Licensed HVAC and machining trade professionals installing these in production tooling will recognize this geometry as a standard high-performance finishing and semi-finishing option.
This insert is sized for applications in metalworking where controlled chip formation and edge stability across steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium are required. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.4330 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.4330 inches, it suits both light finishing passes and moderate material removal rates. The right-hand cutting configuration makes it compatible with standard right-hand milling cutter bodies accepting APKT-style pockets. Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per standard lockout/tagout procedure. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw for the cutter body to avoid seat damage or insert fracture. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Index or replace all inserts in a multi-insert cutter body at the same time to maintain balanced cutting forces.
