The KENNAMETAL 1097039 is a right-hand CTGP-style indexable turning toolholder from the Kendex series, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from steel, it accepts TN..32. (TP.. 322) triangle inserts secured by a top clamp mechanism with a positive rake angle of 0 degrees. The shank measures 1 inch wide by 1 inch tall and the holder runs 6 inches in overall length, making it a standard fit for most production and job-shop turning setups. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this toolholder in high-volume turning applications where consistent insert seating and reliable clamping force are critical to part accuracy.
This toolholder suits external turning applications in both production and general-purpose machine shop environments. The CTGP style with positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The Kendex series is a recognized platform in indexable turning, and this holder is configured specifically for right-hand cutting direction. Compatible insert geometry is the TN..32. triangle, with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. No coolant-through capability is present on this holder.
Designed for use with TN..32. series triangle inserts (complete insert compatibility: TP.. 322) with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. Part of the Kendex toolholder series.
A qualified machinist or CNC lathe operator should install this toolholder. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before mounting or changing the toolholder or insert. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the tool block or quick-change toolpost per machine manufacturer specifications before taking a cut. Inspect the clamp screw and insert pocket for chips or damage before each insert change.
