The KENNAMETAL 1096369 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built on the Kenloc series platform, it accepts CN.. style inserts held by a screw and clamp method, delivering a secure negative rake setup at a 5-degree rake angle and a -5-degree lead angle. The shank measures 1 inch in diameter with a 12-inch overall length, and the through-coolant design connects via a 1/4-18 NPT port to direct cutting fluid to the insert tip. The bar handles a minimum bore diameter of 1.625 inches, making it well-suited for moderate to large bore work where rigidity and insert stability are critical.
This boring bar is intended for shops performing internal diameter machining where consistent tool life and repeatable insert indexing are required. The A-MCLN-D toolholder style is a widely recognized geometry in production turning environments. It fits standard lathe turrets and CNC boring setups in both job shop and production floor applications. The Kenloc insert-holding system provides positive clamping during interrupted cuts and high-feed passes. Machinists and tooling technicians working in steel, cast iron, and similar materials will find this bar a direct fit for medium-to-heavy boring applications.
Designed to accept CN.. series indexable inserts with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch thickness, following the A-MCLN-D toolholder style specification. Fits standard lathe turret pockets accepting a 1-inch round shank boring bar.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the bar from the turret. Torque the turret clamping screws per the machine tool manufacturer specification, not the insert screw specification. Confirm through-coolant connection integrity at the 1/4-18 NPT port before running coolant under pressure to avoid leaks at the turret interface.
