The KENNAMETAL 1096075 is a right-hand MCLN-style negative rake indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built on the Kenloc series platform, it features a 1.25 inch by 1.25 inch square steel shank and an overall length of 6 inches. The toolholder accepts CN..43. style inserts secured by a clamp and screw holding method, providing rigid, repeatable insert positioning. A 5-degree lead angle and negative rake geometry make it well suited for heavy interrupted cuts and general-purpose turning where edge strength and tool life are priorities. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install this holder for consistent, high-volume metal removal.
This toolholder is intended for external turning applications on lathes and turning centers in both production and job-shop settings. The right-hand configuration positions it for standard left-to-right feeding operations. The negative rake geometry is commonly selected for tough workpiece materials where insert strength and resistance to chipping are critical. The Kenloc clamp-and-screw holding system is widely used in industrial turning for its secure insert retention under heavy radial and axial cutting loads. No coolant-through capability is present in this design.
Designed to accept CN..43. style inserts with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle. Complete insert compatibility reference: CN.. 432. Consult insert manufacturer specifications to confirm grade and geometry selection for the target workpiece material.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Ensure the shank seating surface and turret bore are clean and free of chips before securing. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for toolholder clamping fasteners and verify insert seating before resuming cuts.
