The KENNAMETAL 1095984 is a left-hand MWLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for negative-rake external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a -5 degree rake angle and accepts WN..43. series inserts secured by a clamp and screw holding method, providing rigid, repeatable insert seating under heavy cutting loads. The shank measures 0.75 inches wide by 0.75 inches tall with an overall length of 4.5 inches. Part of the Kenloc series, this toolholder is built from steel for durability in production turning environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators typically specify this holder for finishing and semi-finishing passes where consistent insert presentation and edge security are critical.
This toolholder fits standard MWLN toolholder stations on CNC turning centers and engine lathes with a 3/4 inch square shank pocket. The left-hand orientation suits right-to-left feed operations and specific OD turning applications where hand clearance dictates holder direction. The insert inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, compatible with WN.. 432 inserts. It is suited for steel, cast iron, and similar materials in both job-shop and production environments where Kenloc-compatible tooling stations are present. Coolant-through capability is not available on this holder.
Designed to accept WN..43. and WN.. 432 series indexable inserts. Compatible with lathe and turning center tooling stations that accommodate a 3/4 inch square shank. Refer to the Kenloc system documentation for compatible tooling blocks and wedge-style holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing inserts or mounting the toolholder. Verify shank pocket dimensions match the 0.75 inch by 0.75 inch shank before clamping. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque guidelines for toolpost or turret clamping hardware, and confirm insert seating per Kennametal Kenloc system instructions before resuming cutting operations.
