The KENNAMETAL 1095915 is a right-hand internal indexable profiling boring bar designed for precision internal turning and profiling operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to the Top Notch Profiling Boring Bar series, this toolholder features a 0.5 inch shank diameter, an 8 inch overall length, and a 17.5-degree lead angle with neutral rake geometry. The insert is secured by a clamp-style holding method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during interrupted cuts and continuous profiling passes. A built-in coolant-through port with a 1/16-27 NPT thread delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert for improved chip evacuation and tool life. The steel body offers structural rigidity suited for demanding boring applications across a range of workpiece materials.
This toolholder is used in internal boring and profiling applications where a minimum hole diameter of 0.67 inches must be accessed. It is suited for production and job-shop environments running CNC turning centers where consistent insert indexing and coolant delivery are required. The 8 inch OAL allows reach into deeper bores while maintaining shank engagement. The neutral rake configuration makes it adaptable to a wide range of workpiece materials, including steels, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this toolholder in both production and maintenance machining contexts.
Accepts NP.. series inserts, specifically compatible with NP.. 51L insert style. Insert inscribed circle is 5/8 inch. Part of the KENNAMETAL Top Notch Profiling Boring Bar series. Also referenced under manufacturer number A08NKQCR/L05.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully within the toolpost or boring bar holder to the depth specified by the machine tool manufacturer before engaging any workpiece. Verify insert seating and clamp torque per standard toolholder practice before running the spindle. Connect the coolant-through port to the machine coolant supply using an appropriate 1/16-27 NPT fitting before commencing cuts that require through-coolant flow.
