The KENNAMETAL 1095663 is a right-hand SCAP-style indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It features a 4-degree positive rake angle, which reduces cutting forces and promotes free-cutting action on a wide range of workpiece materials. The screw-on insert holding method provides secure, repeatable insert seating. The shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall, with an overall length of 6 inches. This toolholder is built from steel for durability in production and job-shop turning environments. Machinists and CNC operators are the primary users for this type of tooling.
This toolholder is suited for external turning, facing, and profiling applications on small- to mid-size lathes where a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank pocket is specified. The SCAP style accepts CP..32.5. series inserts, also identified as CP.. 3252 in complete insert compatibility notation. It is appropriate for both production environments and repair-shop turning tasks where a positive-rake screw-on holder is required. The 3/8 inch inscribed circle insert size keeps cutting geometry compact for work in tighter clearance zones.
Designed to accept CP..32.5. series inserts (complete insert compatibility: CP.. 3252) with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle. Fits tool blocks and turrets with a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank pocket. No coolant-through capability.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing toolholders or indexing inserts. Secure the shank fully in the tool block or turret station to the specified clamping torque per the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Use the appropriate Torx or hex driver for the insert screw as specified by the insert manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert or damage the screw thread.
