The KENNAMETAL 1095655 is a right-hand SCLP-style indexable turning toolholder designed for positive-rake external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built on a screw-on insert-holding method, this toolholder accepts CP..32.5. inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, providing a secure, repeatable cutting edge location. The square shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall and delivers a 5-degree lead angle suited for general-purpose turning and facing passes. The steel body provides rigidity for consistent depth-of-cut control. This toolholder is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 1095655 is intended for external turning applications in both production and maintenance machining environments. Its positive-rake geometry reduces cutting forces, making it well suited for finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 6-inch overall length and standard square shank allow fitment in a wide range of SCLP-compatible tool blocks and quick-change toolpost systems. The 5-degree lead angle helps direct cutting forces toward the workpiece chuck, reducing deflection on slender workpieces. This toolholder ships as a single unit without an insert included.
Designed for use with CP..32.5. style inserts (complete insert compatibility: CP.. 3252) with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Fits SCLP-compatible tool blocks and quick-change toolpost systems that accept a 0.5-inch square shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the toolholder in the tool block or quick-change post to the machine manufacturer's specified clamping torque before operation. Ensure the cutting edge height is set to workpiece centerline and verify insert seating before taking a cut. Always shut down spindle rotation and confirm the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing inserts or repositioning the toolholder.
