The KENNAMETAL 1095649 is an indexable turning toolholder in the SDUCL082 style, designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in production and job-shop environments. It uses a screw clamping method to secure DC-style inserts and is configured for left-hand cutting with a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees. The shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall, and the overall length is 3.5 inches, making it suitable for standard tool post and turret stations. Toolholder body is steel construction. Installed by machinists and CNC operators performing external turning operations.
This toolholder is suited for external longitudinal turning and facing operations on lathes equipped with standard square shank tool stations. The SDUCL082 style accommodates DC insert geometry with a 1/4 inch inscribed circle, and the screw-on clamping method provides reliable insert retention during interrupted and continuous cuts. The left-hand orientation directs cutting forces toward the spindle, making it appropriate for applications where the tool feeds from left to right. The back of bar to cutting edge dimension is 0.67 inches, and the head length is 0.5 inches.
Compatible with DC-style inserts having a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) inscribed circle; complete insert compatibility designation is DC.. 2151. Designed for use in standard square shank tool stations accepting a 0.5 x 0.5 inch shank profile.
Installation is performed by machinists on CNC or manual lathes with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before toolholder exchange. Secure the shank fully in the tool post or turret block to the required clamping depth before verifying cutting edge height. Use the correct Torx or hex key to torque the insert clamping screw per the insert manufacturer specification printed on the insert packaging. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for chips or damage before seating a new insert.
