The KENNAMETAL 1094751 is a steel indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to the A-STLP toolholder style, it accepts TP-style inserts secured by a screw clamping method. The shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter with an overall length of 10 inches. Minimum bore diameter is 0.930 inches (23.62 mm), making it suitable for tight-bore applications. A neutral rake angle and -5 degree lead angle are optimized for stable, controlled cutting. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers of this toolholder.
This boring bar is used in precision internal turning applications across job shops, production machining facilities, and toolrooms. It is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where a 3/4-inch straight shank toolholder can be fixtured in a turret or boring bar holder. The coolant-through design, with a 1/8-27 NPT coolant hole thread, supports directed coolant delivery to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip evacuation in deep bore operations.
Designed for use with TP-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 5/32-inch insert thickness. Fits any turret or tool block accepting a 3/4-inch straight-shank boring bar.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver or Torx key for the insert clamping screw — refer to the insert manufacturer torque specification for the specific insert grade used. Verify shank clamping length meets the machine tool manufacturer minimum engagement requirement before cutting.
