The KENNAMETAL 1094613 is a right-hand SVJB-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built on a screw-on clamping system, it accepts VB..33. series inserts and holds them at a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees, providing a balanced cutting geometry suited for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The shank measures 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch with an overall length of 4.5 inches. The toolholder body is constructed from steel for rigidity and resistance to deflection under cutting loads. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the typical installers.
This toolholder is suited for external longitudinal turning and facing operations in both production and job-shop environments. The 3-degree lead angle and 0-degree neutral rake geometry make it a versatile choice for general-purpose turning where predictable chip flow and consistent insert seating are priorities. It is appropriate for light to moderate material removal rates and is commonly used in residential machine shops, industrial production cells, and maintenance machining operations requiring precise external diameter work.
Designed to accept VB..332 series indexable inserts. Insert compatibility is confirmed for VB..33. geometry inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle diameter. Verify insert geometry and clamping fit before use with any insert not listed in the input data.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing inserts or mounting the toolholder in the turret or tool post. Use the appropriate torque wrench on the clamping screw as specified by the machine tool manufacturer — do not overtighten or use impact drivers on insert clamping screws. Confirm proper tool height alignment to spindle centerline before taking the first cut.
