The KENNAMETAL 1094577 is a left-hand SCLC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It accepts CC..32.5. series inserts secured by a screw-on clamping method, providing repeatable positioning and rigid insert support during turning operations. The shank measures 1 inch wide by 1 inch tall with an overall length of 6 inches, making it a standard fit for common tool post and turret configurations. Neutral rake geometry at 0 degrees suits a broad range of workpiece materials and cutting conditions. The toolholder body is machined from steel for durability under continuous cutting loads. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this holder as part of a production turning setup.
This toolholder is intended for external turning applications in production and job-shop environments. The left-hand orientation positions the cutting edge for right-to-left feed direction, commonly used when turning toward the chuck or machining shoulders and faces from that direction. A 5-degree lead angle helps manage chip flow and reduces radial cutting forces. The screw-on insert holding method is well suited to light to medium material removal rates where insert change speed and secure clamping are both priorities. Facilities running medium-volume part runs on conventional or CNC lathes will find this a practical OEM-style holder choice.
Designed to accept CC..32.5. series inserts (complete insert compatibility designation CC.. 3252). Verify insert nose radius and grade selection against your specific workpiece material and cutting parameters before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating the toolholder in the turret or tool post. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before torquing the clamping bolts. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended clamping procedures for square-shank holders; do not overtighten, as this can distort the shank or damage the turret bore.
