The KENNAMETAL 1094535 is a right-hand SVJB-style indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees, this toolholder accepts VB..22. series inserts secured by a screw-on clamping method, providing repeatable positioning and rigid insert support during cutting. The steel shank measures 0.5 inches wide by 0.5 inches tall with an overall length of 3.5 inches and a head length of 0.88 inches. The back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension is 0.625 inches. This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC technicians in production and job-shop turning environments.
The 1094535 is suited for external turning applications in both production and maintenance machining settings. The SVJB toolholder style positions the insert at a 3-degree lead angle, making it appropriate for general-purpose turning passes on steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The compact 0.5 inches x 0.5 inches shank fits standard small-bore tool blocks and quick-change toolpost systems commonly found on bench lathes and compact CNC turning centers. This toolholder is a single-use, non-coolant-through design intended for dry or flood-coolant external turning operations.
Compatible with VB..22. series inserts (complete insert compatibility: VB.. 221). Designed as an OEM-style screw-on indexable turning toolholder for CNC and manual lathes equipped with 0.5 inches x 0.5 inches shank tool stations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians. Power down and lockout the machine spindle before changing toolholders or indexing inserts. Seat the shank fully in the tool block and torque the clamping fasteners to the machine or toolpost manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and clamping screw condition before each insert change to ensure proper insert support.
