The KENNAMETAL 1094484 is a left-hand SCLC-style indexable turning toolholder designed for precision external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a neutral rake geometry with a 0-degree rake angle and a 5-degree lead angle, making it well suited for general-purpose turning where consistent chip control and insert seating are critical. The screw-on insert holding method locks the insert securely during heavy interrupted or continuous cuts. The shank measures 0.625 inches wide by 0.630 inches tall with an overall length of 4 inches. This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This toolholder is used in external turning applications on standard square-shank toolpost setups found on CNC turning centers and engine lathes in both production and maintenance machining environments. The left-hand orientation positions the cutting edge for right-to-left feed direction cuts. It accepts CC..32.5. series inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, which are common in general turning of steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The screw-on clamping method provides positive insert location without an overhead clamp obstructing chip flow.

This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing the toolholder or indexing inserts. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolpost or turret pocket before tightening the clamping screws to the tool manufacturer's specified torque range for the pocket type. Inspect the insert seat and screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper insert location and prevent premature edge failure.
