The KENNAMETAL 1026338 is a CAT40 taper shank end mill holder designed for secure tool retention in CNC machining centers. It accepts a 3/8 inch shank end mill and features through-coolant capability, routing coolant directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. The holder has a 1 inch nose diameter, a 2.5 inch projection, and is balanced to 12000 RPM, making it suitable for moderate- to high-speed milling applications. Machinists and CNC setup technicians install this holder in spindles equipped with a standard CAT40 interface.
This end mill holder is used in vertical and horizontal machining centers with CAT40 spindle tapers, common in job shops and production environments running ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The through-spindle coolant system requires the machine tool to have an internal coolant supply. A 5/8-11 drawbar thread is used to seat and retain the holder in the spindle. The 2.5 inch projection provides clearance for a range of fixturing and workpiece configurations encountered in typical milling work.
Designed as an OEM-style end mill holder for CNC machining centers equipped with a CAT40 spindle taper and through-spindle coolant capability.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing any toolholder. Inspect the taper and spindle bore for contamination or damage before seating the holder, as debris will affect runout and balance. Torque the drawbar to the machine tool manufacturer specifications only.
