The KENNAMETAL 1022123 is a lock pin designed to secure inserts and clamps on indexable turning tools. It features a 9/64 inch hex socket drive and a 3/8-24 thread, providing the precise engagement needed to hold cutting components firmly during turning operations. This type of pin is a consumable hardware component replaced during routine tooling maintenance. Licensed machinists and tool-room technicians working with indexable toolholders rely on this pin to maintain clamp tension and prevent insert movement under cutting loads.
This lock pin is used in CNC and manual lathe setups where indexable insert toolholders are the standard. It is suited for production turning environments in metalworking shops, job shops, and manufacturing facilities. The pin installs into the clamp body to lock the insert in position, and it is replaced whenever wear, thread damage, or loss is identified during tool inspection. Sold individually per package.
Designed for use with CK12 clamps on KENNAMETAL indexable turning toolholders. Verify clamp model and thread engagement before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine is powered down and all motion has stopped before accessing the toolholder. Use a calibrated hex key of the correct 9/64 inch size to drive the pin to proper seating without overdriving or cross-threading. Inspect the mating threads in the clamp body for damage before installing a replacement pin.
