The JONES STEPHENS s13140 is a 4-inch Styrofoam closet flange spacer sold in a box of 120 units. It is placed around the drain pipe during concrete pours to hold the opening at the flange location, eliminating the need to chip out concrete after the slab cures. The Styrofoam construction allows easy removal: the spacer breaks away manually or melts cleanly with a flame. Licensed plumbers and rough-in crews use these during new construction and slab work to maintain accurate flange positioning without damaging surrounding concrete.
This spacer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in applications where closet flanges are set into concrete slabs or mud-bed floors. It keeps the flange bore open and protected during the pour, reducing labor on the back end of the job. The box-of-120 quantity makes it practical for production builders and plumbing contractors running multiple units or pads simultaneously.
Designed for use with standard 4-inch closet flanges set in concrete slab or mud-bed applications during new construction rough-in.
These spacers are installed by licensed plumbers during the concrete forming and pour stage of new construction. Place the spacer over the drain pipe at the flange location before the slab is poured to reserve the opening. After the concrete cures, remove the spacer by breaking it away by hand or melting it with a torch flame. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and jobsite safety procedures when using open flame near finished or forming work.
