The JONES STEPHENS k104670050 is a forged brass drop tee designed for copper tubing systems using sweat (C x C x C) connections. This three-outlet fitting allows a branch line to drop perpendicular from a run of half-inch copper tubing. Forged brass construction provides strength and corrosion resistance suited to potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems. The fitting measures 2 inches in length and 1.70 inches in width. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during rough-in and system modification work.
This drop tee is used in residential and light commercial plumbing where a branch takeoff is needed from a half-inch copper main line. The C x C x C end configuration requires standard sweat soldering at all three connections. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water supply, radiant heating branch lines, and copper manifold assemblies where a directional drop outlet is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for half-inch copper tubing systems using sweat connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into an existing line. Clean all tube ends and fitting cups thoroughly before applying flux and soldering. Avoid overheating the fitting during the sweat process, as excessive heat can damage the brass and result in a failed joint.
