The JONES STEPHENS c76936 is a 1/2-inch PEX-B straight-length tubing in red, supplied in 20-foot sticks for residential and light commercial potable water distribution. Manufactured from crosslinked polyethylene (PEX-B method), this tubing is rated to 160 psi maximum working pressure and a maximum temperature of 203 degrees F. The flexible construction resists corrosion and scale buildup, making it well suited for hot and cold water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this tubing in new construction and remodel applications where a rigid straight length is preferred over coiled stock.
This tubing is approved for use in potable plumbing systems and is listed under NSF 14, NSF 61, and NSF 372, confirming suitability for drinking water contact and low lead content compliance. It conforms to ASTM F876 and CSA B137.5. The red color conventionally designates hot water lines, supporting organized, code-friendly rough-in work. It is compatible with F1807 crimp-ring insert fittings, F2159 stainless clamp fittings, and other standard OD-tube insert-style fittings. The 5/8-inch outside diameter is standard for nominal 1/2-inch PEX tubing.
Approved for use with F1807, F2159, and other standard OD-tube insert fittings. Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation tubing for nominal 1/2-inch PEX plumbing systems in potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting or joining tubing. Use a dedicated PEX tubing cutter to produce clean, square cuts — avoid saws or utility knives that can deform the end and compromise the fitting seal. Support spacing, bend radius minimums, and expansion allowances should follow the tubing manufacturer guidelines and local code requirements.
