The JOHNSON LEVEL TOOL 405-PLUS is a tall-profile stair gauge set designed for accurate layout work on stairs, rafters, and stringers. Each gauge features a 1.25-inch profile height that provides a stable, secure grip against irregular lumber and waning boards. The hexagonal body shape ensures a flush, consistent fit against the blade of a framing square. Constructed from aluminum with a black anodize finish, these gauges resist corrosion and will not leave marks on lumber surfaces. This set includes five gauges and is suited for carpenters and framing contractors who need repeatable angle settings across multiple cuts.
The 405-PLUS attaches to most standard framing squares, locking down rise and run settings for stair stringer layout, rafter layout, and other repetitive angle work. The gauges can also function as a rip guide or angle guide when used with a circular saw, adding versatility on the job site. The anodized aluminum construction keeps weight low while maintaining durability under regular field use. This set is appropriate for residential framing, finish carpentry, and any application requiring consistent, repeatable angular references on dimensional lumber.
Designed to attach to most standard framing squares. Also usable as a guide attachment with circular saws for rip and angle cuts on dimensional lumber.
Attach each gauge to the framing square blade at the desired rise and run measurement and tighten the locking mechanism firmly before use. Verify gauge position is secure before scribing or cutting to avoid layout errors. No power tools or special tools are required for attachment. Inspect the locking fastener regularly to ensure gauges do not shift during repeated use.
