The JOHNS MANVILLE DW-48X50X3F-75 is a formaldehyde-free fiberglass duct wrap insulation designed for thermal and acoustical control on HVAC ductwork. Constructed from glass fibers bonded with a white, formaldehyde-free resin, this blanket-type insulation is lightweight and highly resilient. It ships as a single FSK (foil-scrim-kraft) faced roll measuring 3 inches thick, 48 inches wide, and 50 feet long. The FSK vapor barrier facing meets installed performance requirements and includes a 2-inch stapling tab for secure attachment during field installation. This product is suited for use wherever exterior duct insulation is required on forced-air systems.
This duct wrap is intended for installation on the exterior of HVAC supply and return ductwork in residential and light commercial applications. It is applicable in attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, and other unconditioned spaces where temperature control and condensation management are priorities. The roll format is practical for wrapping rectangular, round, and oval sheet metal duct runs. HVAC technicians and insulation contractors install this product as part of new construction or retrofit duct insulation scopes. It is also appropriate for other surfaces or spaces where thermal separation from ambient conditions is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation duct wrap for the exterior of HVAC ductwork systems requiring FSK-faced fiberglass blanket insulation.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or insulation contractors following local mechanical codes and SMACNA duct insulation guidelines. Power down the air handling system before beginning duct insulation work. Secure the FSK facing with the integral stapling tab and seal all seams and penetrations with FSK-compatible tape to maintain vapor barrier integrity. Do not compress the insulation during installation, as compression reduces thermal performance.
