The JMF COMPANY 2541032169800 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed to transition from a 2-inch pipe connection down to a 1-inch FTG (fitting-to-tube) end in copper piping systems. Wrot copper fittings are formed from wrought copper, which produces a denser, more uniform grain structure than cast alternatives. This fitting carries a maximum operating temperature rating of 250 degrees F and meets lead-free requirements, making it suitable for potable water applications where low-lead standards apply. Rated at 60 lb class, it is built for standard residential and light commercial pressure service. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard soldering techniques.
This reducer is used in copper plumbing systems where a line size change is required between a 2-inch supply or branch and a 1-inch downstream run. Typical install scenarios include reducing main supply lines to branch circuits, retrofitting existing copper systems, and service or repair work in residential and light commercial plumbing. The FTG connection on the smaller end accepts standard copper tube directly, allowing the fitting to nest into another fitting socket where needed. No pre-applied thread sealant is included, as this fitting is a solder-joint type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 2-inch by 1-inch copper piping systems using sweat-solder joints in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the affected line before cutting or fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before applying heat — overheating wrot copper fittings can burn flux and result in a void in the solder joint. Pressure-test the system after all joints have cooled and before returning the line to service.
