The JMF COMPANY 2516524209800 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed to connect 1.5-inch copper tubing to 1.25-inch copper tubing using sweat (solder) connections on both ends. Manufactured from C12200 copper alloy and produced to the ASTM B75 material specification, this fitting delivers the corrosion resistance and pressure performance that plumbing and refrigeration applications demand. The wrot construction process refines the grain structure of the copper, producing a dense, strong fitting wall. Licensed plumbers and refrigeration technicians reach for this style of coupling when transitioning between two common tube sizes in a single run.
This reducing coupling is suited for commercial, residential, and industrial plumbing systems as well as refrigeration piping. The female soldered by female soldered end configuration accepts standard copper tubing in both the plumbing OD series and the refrigeration OD series. For refrigeration use, the corresponding outer diameters are 1.625 inches on the larger end and 1.375 inches on the smaller end. Typical install scenarios include branch reductions in domestic water supply lines, hydronic piping, and refrigerant suction or liquid lines where a size change is required in the run.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper reducing coupling compatible with standard 1.5-inch by 1.25-inch copper tube systems in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing and refrigeration installations per ASME/ANSI B16.22 and MSS SP-104.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or certified refrigeration technician. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system completely before cutting into the line. Clean and flux both tube ends and fitting sockets thoroughly before applying heat; proper flux coverage is critical to a leak-free solder joint. Follow applicable local plumbing codes, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), and ASHRAE standards for refrigerant piping work.
