The JMF COMPANY 2515416989800 is a wrot copper tube cap designed to terminate the end of a 1-inch copper tube in plumbing and refrigeration piping systems. Manufactured from C12200 copper alloy to ASTM B75 material specifications, this round-head cap connects via a female soldered end connection. The 1-inch nominal size corresponds to a 1-1/8-inch refrigeration outer diameter. Its wrot construction means it is formed from wrought copper stock, producing a denser grain structure and cleaner joints compared to cast fittings. Licensed plumbers and refrigeration technicians install this fitting to cap off unused branch lines, seal decommissioned connections, or pressure-test sections of a piping system.
This cap is suited for both plumbing and refrigeration system applications in residential and light commercial installations. It meets ASME B16.22 and MSS SP-104 standards, making it appropriate for code-compliant sweat-soldered copper piping work. Typical use cases include capping branch tees during phased rough-in, sealing refrigerant suction or liquid line stubs, and isolating sections of a system during service or retrofit work. The female socket end accepts standard copper tubing for a sweat-soldered joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-trade fitting compatible with 1-inch nominal copper tube in sweat-soldered plumbing and refrigeration piping assemblies conforming to ASME B16.22 and MSS SP-104.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or refrigeration technician using standard sweat-soldering tools including a torch, flux, and lead-free solder appropriate for the service type. Before installing, shut off the water supply or recover refrigerant from the system per applicable EPA and local code requirements. Clean and deburr the tube end and fitting socket before applying flux and soldering. Follow ASME B16.22, local plumbing codes, and IFGC or IPC provisions as applicable to the installation jurisdiction.
