The JET 690408 is a variable-speed vertical knee milling machine equipped with an ANILAM 411 3-axis digital readout (DRO) system. Designed for precision metalworking, this mill delivers controlled spindle speeds and three-axis position readout, reducing setup time and improving repeatability on machined parts. At 2,420 pounds, it is a full-size knee mill suited for production and tool-room environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and industrial maintenance shops are the primary installers and operators of this equipment.
This machine is applied in job shops, maintenance facilities, and light manufacturing environments where manual vertical milling operations are required. The integrated ANILAM 411 DRO provides real-time axis position display across X, Y, and Z travels, supporting bolt-hole patterns, linear interpolation functions, and standard milling operations without the overhead of a full CNC controller. It is well suited for shops that need repeatable manual mill work with digital position feedback.
Designed as an OEM-configured vertical knee mill with the ANILAM 411 3-axis DRO pre-installed at the factory. Compatible tooling and accessories follow standard R8 spindle or applicable taper specifications confirmed in the machine documentation provided at delivery.
Installation of a full-size knee mill requires qualified millwrights or industrial equipment riggers using appropriate lifting equipment rated for loads exceeding 2,420 pounds. The machine must be leveled on a reinforced concrete floor and anchored per the manufacturer's installation manual before operation. Electrical connection should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for the specified voltage and phase. Verify all axis scales and DRO connections are intact and undamaged after rigging before powering the unit.
